    After all, the cross is a symbol of an instrument of state murder. Always has been. It's a highly appropriate symbol, especially in Tennessee. It stands for nothing related to Christ's teachings and completely for cruelty, ignorance, nastiness, torture, and murder. #banthedeathpenalty

    The Christa Pike torture/attempted murder worked EXACTLY as intended. TN is chockful of churches & "Christians" wearing crosses (jewelry and tattoo) who believe in the wonderfulness of the state torturing & murdering people regardless of guilt. This is Tennessee. Worked as intended. #deathpenalty

    Christa Pike's botched execution is a horrifying reminder of the cruelty & inhumanity of the death penalty.

    The same physician who presided over the botched execution of Tony Carruthers earlier this year, was also involved in tonight's fiasco.
