    13 May 1901 | Witold Pilecki was born. A Polish soldier who fought in the 1920 & 1939 wars, a volunteer prisoner of the German camp Auschwitz, and a co-founder of camp resistance. He escaped in April 1943 & wrote a report about the crimes in the camp.

    13.05.1941|The Germans arrested the Polish physician dr Jan Nowak. He was first detained at the Gestapo prison in Kraków and in Auschwitz. At #Majdanek from February 1942 as inmate no. 19. He worked in the camp infirmary. Jan later went through Gross-Rosen and Flossenbürg camps. He survived.
